In these cases the damaged parts have to be removed and replaced with pieces of wood. 🪵 (See red arrows)
This will delay the replacement of the entire shutter either entirely or for many years to come.😀

This beautiful traditional home was not maintained for maaaany years. 😔
The interior walls had turned black from the smoke of an old wood burner and pieces of plaster and concrete had started to fall off.🏚️
That is until "Crete Island Estates", a highly experienced and professional real estate office, called us to properly renovate and paint the interior of the property before it is sold. 👏
First we re-plastered, repaired damaged columns and skimmed areas that had bubbled.👍
Then we applied one coat of high coverage primer to stop the blackness of the smoke from reappearing on the newly applied paint and applied two coats of the highest quality emulsion paint!🥇

Πάθος [Pathos] means Passion in Greek ❤️🔥🧿
Meet Vangelis. 💙👨🏻🎨
Een authentieke ‘kunstenaar’. Of een crazy kluizenaar zoals hij zichzelf noemt. Ongeveer 20 jaar geleden ontdekte hij ‘pas’ zijn passie toen hij nog alleen in een grot woonde hier vlakbij aan zee.
Na diverse omzwervingen ontmoette hij zijn vrouw Jan op zijn 56e en volgde hij pas echt zijn hart. Hij trouwde met haar, ging in een ‘gewoon’ huis wonen in het kleine dorp Kefalas hier even boven in de bergen.
Op diverse plekken bouwde hij diverse stenen ‘dorpen’ creaties-tuinen, ongelooflijk hoe mooi en met zoveel liefde en aandacht.
Zo is er Villa Jan waar hij zelf woont, een klein wandeling in de bergen brengt je bij Villa Peter & Paul, The Olive tree en The forest.
Unieke en prachtige mozaïeken stenen creaties met ‘donaties van beeldjes, kruisjes, tegeltjes en andere prulletjes uit het hele dorp.
Vangelis vertelde ons honderduit over zijn leven, alle schetsen en foto’s kwamen tevoorschijn. 🥰🤩
Alles wat hij maakt komt voort uit zijn passie voor bouwen en hij leeft van de donaties van de mensen die langskomen en een donatie doen. Waarbij het grootste gedeelte door hem weer wordt gedoneerd aan de lokale supermarkt, zodat arme mensen daar goedkoop hun boodschappen kunnen blijven doen.
Wat een bijzondere authentieke kunstenaar mochten jacqie_lin en ik vandaag ontmoeten en wat genoten we van het luisteren naar zijn mooie geschiedenis en de boodschappen die hij (en wij) daaruit leerde.💖
